About Paradise Valley Real Estate
Find this picturesque and prosperous community just outside of Scottsdale
One of Arizona’s most affluent and luxurious communities, Paradise Valley has become one of, if not the most, desirable neighborhoods in the state. Considered one of the top places in the Southwest to live, residents are able to enjoy some of the country’s best weather, a slow-paced suburban lifestyle, and a sophisticated and beautiful community that embraces the incredible natural desert landscape around it.
Turned into irrigated farmland in the 1880s by the Rio Verde Canal Company, the area did not truly begin to develop until after the Second World War. Mainly a residential community, the homes were often of moderate size but with tremendous properties, often over five acres.
In the 1950s, Phoenix and Scottsdale were looking to expand their city limits, and Paradise Valley residents feared they could lose the picturesque scenery and rural lifestyle they’d come to love. As a result, the town voted to change zoning laws to allow only one home per acre. Since then, the town has continued to thrive and simultaneously maintain its sense of rural splendor and small-town charms.
